I had been to Winter Park twice before and both times I must have missed the entrance to the Mary Jane base area. This is the Winter Park I’ve been looking for. No crazy base village with pay parking lots and me getting completely lost in the basement trying to find the ticket counter. No sir. Mary Jane is the real deal.
I crossed Berthoud Pass to a sight I didn’t expect to see. Snow! Isn’t that something else this late in the season? Dust on crust conditions prevailed, but what the hell, who doesn’t like snowfall. I don’t care if the ski area is closing in six days. Let it fall!
